Terms of Service
Last updated November 3, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Postahoy app and service ("Postahoy", "we", "us"). By using Postahoy you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Postahoy does
Postahoy lets you design a 4×6 postcard on your phone and pay us to print it and mail it by USPS First-Class Mail to addresses in the United States. Printing and mailing are done by our printing partner, Lob.
No account needed
Postahoy doesn't ask you to sign up. Your orders are linked to the app on your phone. If you delete the app or switch phones, you may lose access to your order history in the app. Your cards will still be mailed, and you can email us about any order using its order number.
Prices and payment
- The price per card is shown in the app before you pay. It includes printing and postage. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you also agree to Stripe's terms for that payment.
- We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order you've already paid for.
Cancellations and refunds
- Cards sent right away go to the printer as soon as you pay, so they can't be canceled.
- Scheduled cards can be canceled in the app for a full refund until the end of the day before the send date (Pacific time).
- Cards that can't be mailed (for example, because the post office can't deliver to the address, or our printer can't print the card) are refunded automatically.
- Refunds go back to the payment method you used. Your bank may take a few business days to show them.
Delivery
Most cards arrive within a week, but delivery is handled by the US Postal Service and we can't guarantee a delivery date. Tracking updates in the app come from the postal service and may be incomplete. If a card seems lost or arrives damaged, email us and we'll do our best to make it right.
You're responsible for entering correct addresses. We check addresses before you pay, but if you choose to save an address the post office doesn't recognize, or a card is mailed to an address that was entered incorrectly, we can't refund it.
Your content
You keep all rights to the photos and words you put on your cards. You give us and our service providers permission to store, process, print and mail them, only so we can deliver your cards and support your orders.
You promise that you have the right to use everything you put on a card, and that your card doesn't:
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- contain anything illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or defamatory;
- impersonate someone else or try to mislead the person who receives it; or
- break postal rules, or include anything meant to look like official mail, a bill or a check.
We or our printing partner may refuse to print any card that breaks these rules. If that happens, we'll refund it. Don't use Postahoy to send mail to someone who has asked you not to contact them.
Using the app
Don't misuse Postahoy: don't try to break, overload or get around its security, use it to send bulk or commercial mail, or access other people's orders. We may limit or stop service to anyone who does.
Disclaimers
We work hard to make Postahoy reliable, but the app and service are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't make promises beyond those in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Printed colors may look a little different from your screen.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim about Postahoy is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim relates to. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and the new terms apply to orders placed after that date. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app.
